A vintage, midcentury sideboard made by Schrieber has been completely transformed into a modern, bespoke statement piece that is without a doubt, a one-of-a-kind. This sideboard is exactly what your bedroom, dining room, hallway or sitting room is looking for. Plenty of storage space for linens, dishes, games or media. It’s a completely versatile piece. The symmetry is striking, the sea urchin print is stunning and everything is original bar the hand painted and decoupaged finish. The inlaid handles and legs have been transformed and highlighted with a bit of gold as has the inside of the cabinets that flank the three drawers. A beautiful detail of this piece is that the drawers have been expertly handcrafted and are rounded at the back. The top drawer is a cutlery drawer that has been lined in the same sea urchin print.
The entire piece has been sealed with multiple coats of a high quality, durable top coat in a satin finish.
As luck would have it, I have another Schrieber sideboard that has not been refinished yet, that is completely identical to this one. So if, perhaps, you'd like a different print or colour scheme, please don't hesitate to get in touch!
Local pick-up is a breeze or a courier can be arranged with nationwide delivery. This piece has been finished and is ready-to-ship so delivery times may be sooner than listed. Please contact me with your postcode for a more detailed quotation prior to making any final payment. Anticipated carriage costs are likely to be in the region of £45-65. Often, if you’re not too far away, I will personally deliver the piece for less than the cost of a courier.
As this is a refurbished, vintage piece with no obvious signs of wear and tear, please bear in mind that it’s transformation has been done by hand. Therefore, there will always be indications of its previous life and this should be considered when purchasing.
If this beautiful storage piece isn’t quite what you’re after but you’d like something similar in a different colour or design, please get in touch. I have an identical Schrieber sideboard sitting in my studio, waiting for someone to snap her up and make her beautiful again. I absolutely love commissions and I’d be more than happy to discuss your ideas.
